Tech. Sgt. William Pierce, 403rd Maintenance Squadron fuel systems specialist, lowers firefighters Colby Fairfax and David Cleland, 81st Civil Engineering Squadron, and 'Rescue Randy' from the wing of a C-130J Super Hercules to the ground for transport to a waiting ambulance during a confined space extraction exercise Sept. 30 at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. This exercise is a combined effort of the 403rd MXS and the and the 81st Training Wing's Fire Department to ensure that both the fuel systems specialists and the emergency responders are able to safely extract patients from any confined space at any time.
