201004-N-IE405-1037 STRAIT OF HORMUZ (Oct. 4, 2020) - Sailors assigned to the guided-missile cruiser USS Philippine Sea (CG 58) and Sailors assigned to Helicopter Strike Maritime Squadron (HSM) 48 refuel a MH-60R Seahawk helicopter during flight operations as the ship transits the Strait of Hormuz, Oct. 4. Philippine Sea is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three critical chokepoints to the free flow of global commerce.
