U.S. NAVAL BASE GUAM (Oct. 1, 2020) Command and staff of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and USS America (LHA 6) ride on a rigid hull inflatable boat from amphibious assault ship USS America to receive a tour of the Mark VI patrol boat. The Mark VI is a class of boat in service with the United States Navy and is designed to patrol riverine and littoral waters. America, flagship of Expeditionary Strike Group 7, along with the 31st MEU, is operating in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
