    Marine Corps Installations East       

    A radiological engineer scans soil for radiation prior to collecting sample that will be tested for Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS).Monitoring well installation occurred on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Aug. 19, 2020. PFAS are man-made chemicals commonly used for clothing, food packaging and carpeting and have the potential to be toxic.
