Van Beusekom, commander of the 67th FS. “We launched 45 U.S.Air Force, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Marine Corps aircraft of 11 types from five locations, meeting in the airspace east of Okinawa for a major air war fought from helicopters at a few hundred feet above sea level to fighters at 50,000 feet.”
