During Hurricane Sally, Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center (FNMOC) and Naval Research Laboratory Marine Meteorology Division (NRL MMD) use the Coupled Ocean/Atmosphere Mesoscale Prediction Systems-Tropical Cyclone (COAMPS-TC) ensemble, running in the Microsoft Azure cloud, to predict landfall of the hurricane along the Alabama/Florida border on Sept. 13.
