Netherlands army 2nd Lt. Karen Ten Wolde instructs Cambodian medical students on the various uses and techniques of an ultrasound machine in the radiology department aboard the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) during Pacific Partnership 2012. Medical students were invited to observe doctors and nurses around the ship as well as act as translators between the doctors and the patients. Pacific Partnership, an annual U.S. Pacific Fleet humanitarian and civic assistance mission, brings together U.S. military personnel, host and partner nations, non-government organizations and international agencies to build stronger relationships and develop disaster response capabilities throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
