(Oct. 13, 2020) – U.S. Navy Landing Craft, Air Cushion 65, assigned to Assault Craft Unit 5, waits to return to the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) in preparation for a forward arming and refueling point operation. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit are currently conducting at-sea training events in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations.
