U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Carlo Brancato, a ground combat element officer with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Southern Command, welcomes El Salvador Navy Lt. j.g. Max Antonio Orantes at Jacksonville, North Carolina, Oct. 13, 2020. The U.S. and Salvadoran Marines will work and train alongside each other as part of SPMAGTF-SC in subject matter expert exchanges and training for the duration of UNITAS LXI, a multinational, maritime exercise involving partner nations from Latin America and the Caribbean. The training and exchanges help strengthen the relationships between all the nations involved and achieve interoperability among the services. Brancato is a native of Middletown, New Jersey.
