U.S. Marine Corps Col. Lance Lewis, commanding officer of Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Iwakuni tours the base with Hayato Suzuki, Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs and other Foreign Affairs officials, on Oct. 20, 2020. This was Suzuki’s first visit to the air station, it provided the opportunity to observe one of Marine All Weather Fighter Attack Squadron VMFA(AW) 242’s new F-35B Lightning II aircraft and see how MCAS Iwakuni contributes to the U.S.-Japan alliance.
