U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Lazaro Angelbellocervantes, a mortarman with 1st Battalion, 2d Marine Regiment, currently attached to 4th Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division, as part of the Unit Deployment Program, plans a reconnaissance patrol during exercise Fuji Viper 21.1 at Combined Arms Training Center, Camp Fuji, Japan, Oct. 7, 2020. “My family and I moved to the (United) States for a better life, away from Cuba,” said Angelbellocervantes, a native of Miami, Florida. “I’ve always had the thought about joining the military. It was also a way for me to pay back for the opportunity my family and I were given to live more comfortably compared to what I was born into.” During this evolution of Fuji Viper, Marines demonstrated proficiency in infantry and combined arms tactics through a series of distributed lethality exercises.
