U.S. Army soldiers from Task Force Raptor, 3rd Squadron, 124th Cavalry Regiment, Texas Army National Guard, mark range cards while participating in the unit's spur ride Aug. 2, 2012, in the deserts of Djibouti. The spur ride is a cavalry tradition in which a trooper must pass a series of tests that evaluate physical, leadership, technical and tactical proficiency in a high stress environment in order to earn his spurs and become a member of the Order of the Spur. Task Force Raptor is deployed in support of Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
