(Sep. 21, 2020) Chief Construction Electrician Matthew Markowski assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FOUR (NMCB 4) is notionally wounded from enemy sniper fire at a Field Training Exercise while other Seabees administer aid and transfer him for treatment. NMCB 4 is exercising the capability to construct an Advance Naval Base (ANB). Seabees are the expeditionary engineering and construction experts of the naval service providing task-tailored, adaptable and combat-ready engineering and construction forces that deploy to support global Navy objectives.
