Spc. Jeanette Amaya, left, an air defense battle management system operator with the 3rd Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, became the first female participant to cross the finish line at the Norwegian Foot March, Oct. 25, 2020. Amaya finish the march in approximately 3:40 hrs. More than 300 U.S. and coalition forces participate on a Norwegian Foot March held at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq. Soldiers from Task Force Vikings hosted the event which required participants to march 18.6 miles within 4.5 hours while carrying a 25-pounds ruck sack and a service weapon. Participants who completed the event within the allotted time earned the Norwegian Foot March badge. This badge is an approved foreign award and may be worn on the Army Service Uniform.
