Col. Thomas Brittain, former commander of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., takes the colors that represent JBLM's garrison command from Chief Master Sgt. Dedra Lewis, Brittain's Air Force senior enlisted adviser, during a ceremony Aug. 7 in which Brittain relinquished command of the installation to Col. H. Charles Hodges Jr. During the ceremony, both Brittain and Lewis stepped down from their roles. Brittain had led the base since July 2009.
