U.S. Marines and airmen load an M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System into a U.S. Air Force C-130J Super Hercules during a static loading operation on Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, California, Nov. 5, 2020. Over the course of two days, Marines with 1st Marine Division worked alongside the Air Force’s 39th Airlift Squadron to practice loading Marines and equipment into C-130J transport aircraft. The evolution served as loadmaster training for the airmen in preparation for their upcoming deployment, while providing an opportunity for familiarization training for the division’s mobility personnel. MCAS Camp Pendleton facilitates large aircraft like the C-130J, C-17 Globemaster III and C-5 Galaxy to further its mission of supporting strategic lift of equipment and deployment of Marines around the globe.
