Spc. James Hurst, a native of Cullman, Ala., and Spc. Jason Dean, a native of Springfield, Ala., both chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear specialists with 208th Chemical Company, 151st Chemical Battalion, 31st Chemical Brigade out of Springville, Ala., conduct preventive maintenance checks and services on the AN/PDR 77 at Mascatatuck Urban Training Complex, Ind., Aug. 8. The AN/PDR 77 is radiation detection equipment being used during site characterization training. Equipment is always inspected before suiting up and entering a contaminated site. The chemical company is participating in Vibrant Response 13, a major field training exercise conducted by U.S. Northern Command and led by U.S. Army North.
