Exhibits Specialist, Don Darcy of the Hampton Roads Naval Museum works on the empty gallery of the museum’s latest exhibit about the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War. The exhibit opened to the public in October 2019 and encompasses just over 5,000 square feet of gallery space at their museum, located on the second deck of the Nauticus campus in Downtown Norfolk, Virginia. The exhibit encompasses areas of Intelligence, Riverine Operations, Naval Gunfire Support, Logistics, Non-Combat Support Operations, Prisoners of War, and Aerial Operations among other roles that the US Navy performed during the conflict. The exhibit also incorporates oral histories with area Vietnam War Veterans in an immersive exhibit. (US Navy photo by Clay Farrington/Released).
