First Lieutenant Riki Reynolds, commander of Company A, Task Force Oahu, Hawaii National Guard, oversees a team of Guardsmen assisting with the manual verification and updating of visitors test results registered in the Safe Travels Hawai‘i program, November 16, 2020, 298th Multi-Functional Training Regiment located in Waimanalo, Hawai‘i.
Since October 21, 2020, Guardsmen were working with the State of Hawai‘i’s Office of Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) and Department of Health to reduce the backlog of travelers accounts waiting to be verified and receive their quarantine exemption. Technical fixes were made to the online system's artificial intelligence to accept and verify uploaded documents containing travelers tests results.
