U.S. Marines with Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Futenma, anticipate the arrival of Gen. David H. Berger, the 38th Commandant of the Marine Corps, and Sgt. Maj. Troy E. Black, 19th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, at MCAS Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 15, 2020. The Okinawa-based III MEF is the only forward deployed MEF, and its thousands of Marines and sailors stand ready to support contingency operations, crisis response, and theater security cooperation events.
