Key officials from the VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, VA Construction and Facilities Management, and Pike/PJ Dick Joint Venture celebrate the raising of the final beam for placement in the new outpatient clinic at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center, Canandaigua, NY, September 24, 2020.
This traditional event, also known as a topping out ceremony, is a hallmark activity for building projects. Col. Eric Crispino, USACE Louisville District Commander offered opening remarks followed by Bruce Tucker, Director VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System; Lt. Col. Eli Adams, USACE Buffalo District Commander; James Champlin, The Pike Company, General Superintendent; David Fertal and Jack Brown, Pike-PJ Dick Joint Venture, Project Management Team.
The new building will house outpatient services, including primary care, specialty care, diagnostic imaging, dental and audiology. Due to COVID-19 the small event was attended by key officials only.
