A U.S. Marine with Marine Rotational Force Europe 21.1 (MRF-E), Marine Forces Europe and Africa, builds a fire during cold weather familiarization training in Setermoen, Norway, Nov. 15-18, 2020. During this training, Marines learned how to build fires using only the natural materials around them which will provide heat to help them keep warm at night and boil snow for drinking water. MRF-E focuses on regional engagements throughout Europe by conducting various exercises, arctic cold-weather and mountain warfare training, and military-to-military engagements, which enhance overall interoperability of the U.S. Marine Corps with allies and partners.
