Command Sgt. Maj. Quentin Fenderson, the senior enlisted advisor for 3rd Infantry Division, presents a coin to Spc. Jamerio Stell, a Birmingham, Alabama, native and a culinary specialist with 3rd Sustainment Brigade, 3rd ID, during a small ceremony at the Hunter Army Airfield Consolidated Dining Facility Dec. 1, 2020. Stell is part of a team of culinary specialists selected to represent the 406th Army Field Support Brigade for the upcoming Philip A. Connelly Competition.
“The Philip A. Connelly Program is the personification of food service excellence executed by culinary specialists resulting in the presentation of extremely gratifying dining experiences across all Army food service platforms in garrison and field environments,” according to the program’s official website.
“Everybody has talked about this team and what you have done,” said Fenderson. “This is a very proud accomplishment.”
Stell and the rest of the culinary team will soon compete against dining facilities from across the Army as they progress in the competition.
