OKINAWA, JAPAN-- Petty Officer 1st Class Frank Rivera, hospital corpsman, 3rd Medical Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, competed for Sailor of the Year for III Marine Expeditionary Force during a selection board here, Oct. 21, 2020. As a medical professional, Rivera directly serves with III Marine Expeditionary Force, and he was recognized as a top performer during the Sailor of the Year Symposium. Sailors at Marine Corps units have the opportunity to attain Fleet Marine Force qualifications by passing examinations to demonstrate Marine Corps knowledge and skills.
