    MISAWA, Japan (Dec. 2, 2020) – Aviation Maintenance Administrationmen 3rd Class Rachael Shively, assigned to Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Detachment (AIMD) Misawa, performs a temperature check on Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet, Vice Adm. Bill Merz at the AIMD quarter deck during a visit to Naval Air Facility (NAF) Misawa. Merz is conducting fleet circulation visits to NAF Atsugi and NAF Misawa with a focus on discussing the U.S. 7th Fleet Warfighting Concepts and engagement with tenant commands and rotational deployers. U.S. 7th Fleet conducts forward-deployed naval operations in support of U.S. national interests in the Indo-Pacific area of operations.
