Col. Terry P. Cook, commander, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, awards Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas W. Eppler the Legion of Merit prior to the “Highlander’s” change of responsibility ceremony, Aug. 10, at its headquarters building on East Fort Bliss. Eppler received the Legion of Merit for his exceptional service to the unit and its soldiers during the 18 months he served as the brigade’s third command sergeant major.
