An F-16 Fighting Falcon assigned to the 18th Aggressor Squadron takes off during RED FLAG-Alaska 12-3, Aug. 6, 2012, Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. A week prior to the exercise, most participating RF-A units may fly one or two range orientation flights, make physical and mental preparations, hone up on local flying restrictions, receive safety and survival briefings, and develop orientation plans.
