Lt. Gen. David G. Bellon, Commander, Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) and Marine Forces North (MARFORNORTH), and Sgt. Maj. Scott D. Grade, Sergeant Major, MARFORRES and MARFORNORTH, case the MARFORNORTH colors Dec. 7, 2020 at Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans. The roles and responsibilities of MARFORNORTH were transferred to U.S. Marine Corps Forces Command to allow for closer component alignment with Navy Forces North by geographically collocating the commands in Norfolk, Virginia. The realignment of command was directed by the Commandant of the Marine Corps to strengthen naval integration efforts in accordance with the Commandant’s Planning Guidance.
