U.S. Air Force Airman Tristan Bender, who is assigned with the Michigan National Guard’s COVID-19 response task force, is working at the South Michigan Food Bank, Battle Creek, Michigan, Dec. 08, 2020. He is one of five service members who are still assigned to the food bank helping to distribute food this Christmas season.
“I’m proud to be able to do this, I know a lot of people who need it,” said Bender. “I’ve seen people I know come through, that personal connection of knowing who they are and that they need this, it drives home how much world events have taken a toll on everyone.
