U.S Marines static line jump from a KC-130J Hercules over Drop Zone Basilone during a parachute operation on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Dec. 10, 2020. During a static line jump, Marines’ parachutes are attached to the aircraft with a cord, and upon jumping out, the cord deploys the canopy and enables a safe landing. Marines with Air Delivery Platoon, Landing Support Company, 1st Transportation Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, coordinated the training opportunity to support various units around the base and enable Marines to gain proficiency and remain current with their airborne jump training.
