U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Sarah Molstad, a registered nurse assigned to the 59th Medical Wing, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, works on a patient in the overflow section at University Medical Center of El Paso, Texas, Dec. 11, 2020. These patients are not COVID positive, so Molstad does not need to wear the same level of personal protection equipment as other nurses in other sections of the hospital. With the bed shortages and the nurse shortages, Molstad helps with any patient that needs care, not just COVID patients. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency in support of the whole-of-America COVID-19 response.
