YOKOSUKA, Japan (Nov. 4, 2020) Sonar Technician (Surface) 1st Class Chong Yi, a native of Springfield, Virginia, and a member of Submarine Group 7's operations department, enlisted in the Navy in August 2001, and remembers being in boot camp on Sept. 11 of that year. He has spent the last seven years in Japan, most recently aboard USS Shiloh (CG 67).
