The shift change brief at the beginning of the night shift, Dec. 16, 2020, in the COVID-19 unit at Sanford Health Fargo, Fargo, N.D., sets a tone of intensity and dedication among the hospital’s staff and the Department of Defense registered nurses who are integrated with them, supporting the hospital and the North Dakota Department of Health’s efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The Department of Defense nurses and their hospital counterparts will then conduct patient handoff briefings, ensuring the greatest continuity of patient care from one provider to the other. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency in support of the whole-of-America COVID-19 response.
