Michael Osborne, chief of inpatient pharmacy at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center, Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, in Bay Pines, Fla., places a tray of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine into a vaccine and sample cold storage unit December 22, 2020. This is the first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine received by Bay Pines VA following the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Emergency Use Authorization for the vaccine. Thirty-seven medical centers began offering the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to health care personnel and Veterans December 14. Bay Pines VA is one of fifteen additional VA facilities will receive an allocation of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine the week of December 21.
