Iranian mariners are transferred from a rigid-hull inflatable boat assigned to the guided-missile destroyer USS James E. Williams (DDG 95) to an Iranian vessel in order to be returned to their country of origin. Sailors from Williams' visit, board, search and seizure team rescued the 10 mariners after they were forced to abandon their burning vessel in the Gulf of Oman. James E. Williams is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility conducting maritime security operations, theater security cooperation efforts and support missions as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
