Spc. Shane Flores wrestles a tow missle tube into the launcher mounted on the exterior of the Bradley. The task required trainees to load the tube through the rear hatch inside the vehicle, into the launcher mounted on the exterior of the Bradley turret and then remove it.
After the morning 12-mile ruck march, the trainees were given a series of timed exercises back in the vehicle bays where the Bradley Fighting Vehicles they will train on are kept. The trainees take turns at several stations where they are given physical tasks relating to their training. The tasks were all part of the high demand physical testing to evaluate the trainees ability to carry out the duties of a Cavalry Scout.
The job of a Cavalry Scout is to operate as one of the first personnel in an area. These soldiers are quite literally the first line of defense for Army units. Cavalry Scouts engage the enemy with anti-armor weapons and scout vehicles in the field, track and report enemy movement and activities, and will direct the employment of various weapon systems onto the enemy.
