Naval Aircrewman 1st Class Patrick Blaise, right, and Naval Aircrewman 1st Class Patrick Baumia, both assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron THREE, scan the horizon for wildfires during an aerial firefighting mission. HSC-3 and HSC-21 are assisting CALFIRE by providing aircrews flying specially-equipped MH-60S helicopters to conduct aerial water drops against several wildfires in eastern San Diego County. San Diego HSC squadrons are trained for fire-fighting missions at the Navy's Southern California offshore training ranges and conduct semi-annual joint training with CALFIRE to ensure interoperability and an immediate response capability in support of local authorities for emergency events.
