The cutter USCG Sycamore (WLB 209) participates in Arctic Shield 2012 off the coast of Barrow, Alaska, Aug. 12, 2012. Arctic Shield is a U.S. Coast Guard-directed exercise in conjunction with federal, state and tribal officials designed to test the Spilled Oil Response System as well as strengthen law enforcement and search-and-rescue capabilities in the Arctic regions of Alaska.
