Personnel specialist 2nd Class Aida Hernandez, assigned to submarine tender USS Emory S. Land (AS 39) plays hacky-sack with a member of the Royal Thai navy at Mechai Pattana School in Pattaya, Thailand, during a community service project. Sailors from Emory S. Land and the Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine USS Buffalo (SSN 715) volunteered at the school as part of a theater security cooperation and friendship mission to the region. Buffalo, homeported in Guam, is on a western Pacific deployment, while Emory S. Land, homeported in Diego Garcia, is on an extended deployment to Guam, conducting coordinated tended moorings and afloat maintenance in the U.S. 7th fleet area of operations.
