Sheik Salah Nuwar Assalal reacts to the torii tile given to him, Nov. 10, by Lt. Col. Brian Coppersmith, commander of 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). The torii is a traditional Japanese gate that is the symbol associated with the Rakkasans. The sheik was one of more than a dozen Iraqi leaders in southern Baghdad who attended a meeting at Camp Striker with Sunni and Shia to discuss their concerns.
