For more than four decades, Crane Army Ammunition Activity has been dedicated to providing conventional munitions support for U.S. Army and Joint Force readiness. Here Col. George H. Connor, Jr., Crane Army’s first commander, speaks during a ceremony establishing CAAA in 1977. Crane Army has experienced incredible innovation over the years and supported the warfighter in all of our nation’s conflicts since then. Crane Army is now one of 17 installations of the Joint Munitions Command and one of 23 organic industrial bases under the U.S. Army Materiel Command, which include arsenals, depots, activities and ammunition plants.
