Elements of 3d Battalion, 3d Marines and 3d Battalion, 8th Marines practice jungle survival skills alongside soldiers from the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force, at the Jungle Warfare Training Center, Camp Gonsalves, January 25, 2021. During this month-long course, Marines and JGSDF soldiers are taught how to survive as a unit and as individuals in the jungle with little to no supplies. Both Marine units are currently attached to 4th Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division, under the Unit Deployment Program.
