Approximately $6.5 million in military equipment was divested to Iraqi security forces Jan. 23, 2021, at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, through the AAAB Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Fund program here. The Iraqi security forces received 25 M1151 Enhanced Armament Carriers and five non-tactical vehicles, as well as more than one million rounds of 5.56mm ammunition and several pieces of body armor. The vehicles and military equipment will provide essential transportation and body protective equipment to the Iraqi military as they conduct daily operations in their continued fight to defeat Daesh. The Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve uses CTEF to directly increase and enable its key lines of effort - enhance partners force readiness and capabilities, ensure regional security at national borders and historic ISIS operating areas, and further develop force protection for partner forces.
