Army Pvt. Karina N. Gatewood studies a submerged hydrometer that will yield density data during a Petroleum Laboratory Specialist Course training session Jan. 22 at the Quartermaster School's Laboratory Training Division. Gatewood was one of roughly two dozen students in the first week of a course charged with teaching military members how to test and certify fuels so that weapons like the Apache helicopter and Abrams tank can operate safely.
