SAN DIEGO (Feb 3, 2021) Sailors assigned to hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) participate in training at Navy Medicine and Readiness Training Command (NMRTC) during Mercy Exercise 21-2 (MERCEX) Jan 12-14. MERCEX 21-2 was held in order to sustain mission readiness while Mercy is in an extended maintenance period. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the ways of how to conduct business and NMRTC has adapted some of its techniques and practices to keep everyone safe. NMRTC’s mission is to prepare service members to deploy in support of operational forces, deliver high quality healthcare services and shape the future of military medicine through education, training and research.
