Cmdr. Shannyn Fowler, PCU John F. Kennedy (CVN 79) outgoing Reactor Training Assistant Officer, returns the salutes of JFK’s wardroom as she is piped ashore. Piping ashore is a time-honored tradition in the U.S. Navy, where a departing Sailor is honored and recognized by a Boatswain's Mate piping them ashore while the crew stands at attention and salutes.
