Michael Mcshirley, an 88th Civil Engineer Squadron stationary engineer, performs his hourly inspection of the Kaufman Ave. heat plant’s two biggest boilers, Feb. 10, 2021, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The two boilers are capable of putting out as much as 120,000 pounds each of steam every hour and are partly responsible for heating the building on Area B of the base.
