A U.S. Marine with 1st Radio Battalion, I Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, conducts the fast-rope training portion of the Radio Reconnaissance Platoon Selection Aptitude Test at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Feb. 2, 2021. Marines must pass the selection training to advance to the Basic Reconnaissance Course. The mission of the Radio Reconnaissance Platoon is to conduct tactical signals intelligence and electronic warfare operations in support of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force commander during advance force, pre-assault, and deep post-assault operations, as well as maritime special purpose operations.
