Students at M.C. Perry High School participate in the Far East Culinary Arts Visual Showcase aboard Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Iwakuni, Japan, Feb. 25, 2021. Far East Culinary Arts is a cooking competition normally held in person in Tokyo as groups of four students compete against other Pacific East schools. Each team must make a three-course meal in 60 minutes. This year, due to COVID-19, the format was altered and was held virtually at each school with single competitors or teams of two making an entrée and dessert. The students do not know all of their ingredients until right before the clock starts. This year’s 1st place winner of the Far East Culinary Arts was Apache Kahn.
