210209-A-BD272-0109 GULF OF OMAN (Feb. 9, 2021) – A Sailor assigned to patrol coastal
ship USS Chinook (PC 9), reloads ammunition during a live-fire exercise in the Gulf of Oman,
Feb. 9. Chinook is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval
operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the
Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
